The Cwtch, our fully restored restaurant & function room
At The Barleycorn Inn, we celebrate our rich history and heritage. Our building dates back to the 1800s and was originally a Coaching Inn with a full Coach House attached. The Cwtch is the name of our restaurant & function room. A Welsh word meaning a cuddle or embrace with a sense of offering warmth and safety.
During February & March 2024, The Barleycorn Inn commenced its major restoration of The Barleycorn Inn, and has fully restored this room in keeping with the history of the building. The walls have been re-plastered, ceiling and floor joists replaced and a new, eco-friendly log-burner is being installed to replace the open fire place.
All the original furniture has been upcycled, and re-upholstered and soft furnishings made to measure for the 18th Century bay window which looks out on the Marlborough Road, towards Salisbury.
Dining
The restored Cwtch restaurant seats 24 people in comfort and is open seven days a week for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
The Barleycorn Inn is famous for the quality of the produce we use, all of which is sourced locally. In particular, the majority of the meat and eggs we use is from animals that are free range and home reared by Tom himself.
We provide a full menu for each service including Gluten Free and Vegan meals.
Family events
The Cwtch restaurant can be arranged to suite your personal requirements for private family functions such as Birthday Parties, Christening Parties, Cocktail Parties, Christmas Parties, Shoot dinners and Wakes for example.
We will work with you to create a family event menu which meets your exact requirements including table arrangement, table dressing, floral displays and entertainment.

At The Barleycorn Inn, we offer a one-of-a-kind experience for small to medium sized businesses wishing to hold off-site corporate events at a fully self-contained location. The Barleycorn Inn, an 18th century Coaching Inn, nestled in the Wiltshire Countryside bordering Salisbury Plain provides a charming and discrete location for the business traveller with en-suite accommodation in the restored Coach House, The Cwtch meeting room & restaurant and onsite parking.
We are able to offer fully tailored packages for your company whatever your needs, including full Audio Visual equipment, secure wifi, indoor and outdoor seating, refreshments and meals to meet your specific requirements.
